EYES

Like ice and fire. The disparate eyes are reflections of the minds shuttered behind. Indeed, the mirrors of the soul some call them, and not for nothing.

Secretive, icy blue framed by sculpted ridges of steel grey... These piercing orbs miss nothing - always observing, calculating, planning. They know what they want, these eyes, following the object of their desire with an unwavering intensity. They burn with fierce longing for a passion yet unfulfilled.

Garak's eye

Molten brown, fringed by long, dark lashes and set in burnished golden skin... These lambent pools once reflected an innocent joie de vivre, but now the shadows of pain too often cloud them. The hurt of friends lost and illusions shattered, the cold touch of loneliness - too many things have conspired to steal their fire.

"Doctor."

"Garak."

Innocuous words to mark such a momentous meeting. The real questions are asked and answered silently in this intersection of opposites. Fire to melt a heart's coldness and ice to temper the flare of an incautious passion - serendipitous, perfect.
